JESSUP, Md. — Maryland State Police need help finding a hit and run driver responsible for killing a person and injuring two others, Sunday night on I-95 in Howard County.

The trio of crashes happened between 9:15 and 9:30 pm, near Rt. 100.

It started when a Nissan Armada hit a deer and then a guardrail. The driver put on their flashers, but a part of the car still remained in the fast lane.

That caused a Chrysler Pacifica, driven by 40-year-old Russell B. Eggleton of Virginia, to collide with the passenger side of the disabled Nissan.

Then a third car came along and struck the driver and passenger of the Nissan and Eggleton. All three had been standing on the shoulder by their cars, following the crash.

The driver of the third car refused to stop and immediately took off.

Eggleton later died, while the driver and passenger of the Nissan were taken to Shock Trauma in critical condition.

Police recovered auto parts left behind at the scene, and believe the hit and run car is a 2014-2019 Toyota Highlander.

If you witnessed or know anything about this hit and run, please call police at 410-799-2101.
