BALTIMORE — Governor Larry Hogan on Tuesday was on hand to celebrate the grand opening of ABC Greater Baltimore’s New Construction Education Academy.
The 25,000 square foot building located at the Hoen Lithograph Complex on E. Biddle Street includes 11 classrooms and seven labs for professional training in the electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC professions.
It sat abandoned for 40 years until the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development invested $4 million for redevelopment.
The renovation will allow ABC Greater Baltimore to train up to 5,000 skilled workers each year, doubling their current capacity.
Statewide, there is a record 11,000 current registered apprentices.
