Baltimore Police investigating deadly officer-involved shooting near the Inner Harbor Thursday night

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police are investigating an officer involved shooting, Thursday near the Inner Harbor.

Police say officers were flagged down in the area of Pratt and Market Streets by a man who had just been shot.

They soon saw a potential suspect fleeing the area and chased him into a garage, in the 600 block of Lombard Street.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Benjamin Tyson, reportedly pulled a gun and tried shooting at officers but misfired.

During the pursuit at least two officers returned fire, shooting and killing Tyson.

No officers involved were injured. There names have not yet been released.

Police Commissioner Michael Harrison and Mayor Brandon Scott spoke immediately following the incident.
