Deputies are investigating allegations that a chaperone touched a middle school student during a school-sponsored dance. 

The reported incident happened at Leonardtown Middle School on Friday night in St. Mary's County. The girl told deputies that a chaperone that was a man touched her and make her feel uncomfortable. 

After the allegation was reported, the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and St. Mary's County Public Schools immediately launched an investigation. Deputies have talked with school officials, interviewed witnesses, spoke with parents and reviewed video surveillance footage, but the incident was not taped.
