BALTIMORE — The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of Crock-Pot 6-Quart Express Crock Multi-Cookers.

There have been instances where the Crock-Pot pressurizes when the lid is not fully locked.

In some cases, it's caused the lid to suddenly detach resulting in nearly 100 burn injuries.

The Commission says consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Crock-Pot in pressure cooker mode, but can still use for slow cooking and sauteing.

Here are the details of the recalled Sunbeam product.

-Model Number SCCPPC600-V1 (shown on label on bottom of unit)

-Date codes K196JN - K365JN and L001JN - L273JN (engraved on one of the prongs of the electrical plug and on the bottom of the base)

Nearly 915,000 were sold at Walmart, Target and other stores between July 2017 and November 2020.

Call Crock-Pot at 800-323-9519 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for more information.
