WOODLAWN, Md. — Construction begins for Baltimore County’s newest health center.

The Woodlawn Health Center is being relocated to the OWE center at Security Square Mall.

This is one of eight health centers in the county. They offer services like health counseling, immunizations, family planning and reproductive health care, behavioral health support and more.

The center is the busiest in the county, accounting for 24 percent of patients served countywide with over 3,600 annual visits.

It is also the county’s smallest site. The new 8,800 square-foot center will more than double the size of the existing site and triple exam room space.

"I look forward to 2021 when we'll be able to walk into this new location, we will walk in armed with dedicated team members, we will walk in able to provide optimal services, we will walk in eliminating existing barriers, and we will walk in improving health outcomes for this community."

The center is expected to be completed by next summer.
