Now, community leaders are working to make it a sacred ground.

Friends, family and Baltimore ceasefire found Erricka Bridgeford gathered on Douglas Court in Southeast Baltimore for a sacred space ritual for Barksdale.

"This man who took this life came down this pathway...we're going to fill this pathway with a new energy that's full of love," she said.

Barksdale was shot and killed last Sunday. Police are still working to find a suspect.
