WESTMINSTER, Md. — Two Carroll County high school students won top honors, after showing off their building skills on a national stage.
Dylan Bussard attends Westminster High School, and Dakota Van Cleve goes to Manchester Valley.
Both are part of the Welding program at the Carroll County Career and Technology Center.
This year each entered the I BUILT THIS! video contest put on by the National Center for Construction Education and Research.
Dylan finished first in the Secondary category for a video that showed him building an entryway bench and storage for the Technology Center's School Resource Officer.
Dakota's video was chosen as runner-up, and focused on a custom made tailgate for her father’s pickup truck.
For their hard work, Dylan and Dakota took home a prize pack made up of tools, gift cards, a GoPro, and money.
