MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — The ATF and the National Shooting Sports Foundation is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to whoever is responsible for stealing several guns overnight Wednesday, from a licensed dealer in Mechanicsville.

Around 2:46 am, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office was called for an alarm at JMJ Firearms LLC on Three Notch Road.

Arriving deputies found the back of the business had been damaged.

Police believe the burglars got in by ramming a black Ford Expedition through the building.

The license plates on the truck were reportedly stolen out of Charles County.

“A person who uses criminal means to obtain a firearm is someone who needs to be brought to justice and firearms obtained illegally are almost certainly destined to be used for criminal purposes,” said ATF Baltimore Special Agent in Charge Timothy Jones.

Anyone with information is asked to call the ATF at 888-283-8477 or the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office at 301-475-4200, ext. 71996 or 301-475-3333.
