FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. — The body of a 17-year-old girl from Hagerstown was found in a wooded area off of a walking trail in Frederick County.
Deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office say they were notified of the body around 5 p.m. Saturday evening in the area located behind Briargrove Court.
Investigators say the body had apparent injuries and has been identified as a 17-year-old girl from Hagerstown.
The body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy to be performed.
The investigating into the circumstances surrounding the girls death remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 301-600-4017.
