BALTIMORE — A bill that would give Baltimore City control of the Baltimore Police Department is now on its way to Governor Hogan's desk for his signature.

BPD is a state agency right now, but this legislation would make it an agency of the city.

It would also create a community-driven advisory board, which would help with the transition from state to local control.
