Baltimore City Fire Department loses 911 specialist to COVID-19

BALTIMORE — A 911 Specialist with the Baltimore City Fire Department has died from symptoms related to the coronavirus.

Officials didn't release the woman's name, but said she was 62-years-old and had been with the agency for 14 years.

The department said she will be remembered for her love of crocheting.

Leadership was first made aware of the death on Wednesday.

Fire Chief Niles Ford said, "her unwavering commitment to help this community will not be forgotten."
