Baltimore City advising motorists of traffic advisories throughout the city this weekend

BALTIMORE — Baltimore City Department of Transportation is advising motorists of traffic advisories throughout the city this weekend.

On Saturday, November 14, a double left lane closure will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway from the county line to Fayette Street starting at approximately 6:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.

Then on Sunday, November 15, 2020, striping work will continue along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway (if needed) with a double left lane closure again being implemented at approximately 6:00 a.m. (weather permitting).

Once the southbound striping is complete, a double left lane closure will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway from Fayette Street to the county line.

If additional time is needed to complete the striping work, left lane closures will again be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. weather permitting.

On Saturday and Sunday, eastbound E. Cold Spring Lane will be closed to through traffic between York Road and N. Charles Street from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.

In addition, this stretch of E. Cold Spring Lane will close to through traffic in the westbound direction at 6:00 a.m. this Saturday and will remain closed until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Detours and parking restrictions will be in effect during these times. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

On Friday, November 13, 2020, lane closures will be implemented along northbound Belair Road at the intersection of Nicholas Avenue from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight. These lane closures along northbound Belair Road will be implemented again on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

On Saturday, the parking lane along northbound Belair Road will be closed near the intersection of Lasalle Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists during this time.

On Saturday, a triple lane closure will be implemented along S. Charles Street between Pratt and Lombard Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

On Saturday, left lane closures will be implemented along E. Lombard Street between President Street and Market Place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists during this time.

The BCDOT would like to advise motorists that road closures and parking restrictions have been implemented in Fell’s Point to promote outdoor dining activities.

At this time, a one-way westbound traffic pattern has been installed along Thames Street between Caroline and Ann Streets. One lane of westbound traffic remains open for motorists along this portion of Thames Street, and no eastbound traffic is allowed. All southbound S. Broadway and S. Caroline Street traffic is required to turn right (west) onto Thames Street.

In addition, the following nightly road closures will be implemented along Thames and Lancaster Streets to facilitate outdoor dining activities:

  • Thames Street will close nightly between Ann Street and S. Broadway from 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. each evening.
  • Lancaster Street will close nightly from the parking garage entrance/exit just south of the Aliceanna Street circle to Exeter Street from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each evening.

Additional road closures may be implemented in the Fell’s Point area if needed for safety reasons. Visitors should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas. Residential Permit Parking (RPP) regulations will be strictly enforced in Fell’s Point (RPP Area 16) and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.
Starting on Friday, November 13 through Sunday, November 15, 2020, the following roadways will be closed in Canton from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. each day with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • O’Donnell Street (both the east and west sides) between Linwood and Potomac Streets
  • Curley Street from O’Donnell Street east and west to the alleyways

Curb lane closures will also be implemented along the following roadways during these times:

  • Linwood Street between O’Donnell and Elliot Streets
  • Linwood Street between O’Donnell and Dillon Streets
  • Potomac Street between O’Donnell and Dillon Streets

The BCDOT would like to remind motorists that a portion of Cross Street has been closed in Federal Hill to allow for outdoor dining.

At this time, the north side of S. Cross Street is closed to through traffic between Light and Charles Streets with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

The BCDOT would like to remind motorists that a portion of Loch Raven Drive in Baltimore County is now closed to through traffic due to a failed culvert.

At this time, Loch Raven Drive is closed between Morgan Mill Road and Providence Road at Loch Raven Reservoir. The timeframe for reopening the roadway has not yet been determined.
