BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police were on the scene of a barricade for more than 40 hours.

Around 9:20 Tuesday night, officers were called to a home in the 1700 block of East Chase Street, for reports of someone possibly firing a gun inside.

The surrounding areas had been taped off.

The barricade situation came to an end sometime Thursday afternoon.

Police say the suspect involved was having a medical emergency and they were able to make entry and take the suspect to a local hospital.

According to police, they went door-to-door making citizens aware, giving them the option to leave or shelter in place during the incident.

Resources have been made available for neighborhood residents impacted, according to police.
