GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Anne Arundel Police are investigating an incident where a projectile flew through a home and lodged itself into an appliance Tuesday night.

At 8:30 p.m. officers responded to the area of Heritage Hills Drive and Lamplighter Ridge in Glen Burnie for multiple 911 calls for gunshots being heard in the area. As officers were arriving to the scene, an additional call was received for a projectile fired into a residence in the 6000 block of Polk Circle. The projectile entered an upstairs front window, continued through two doors and became lodged in an appliance.

There were several residents in the home during this incident, but no injuries were reported.

However, while officers were checking the area near the residence, they received a report of a shooting victim who was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They arrived to the hospital and spoke to the victim, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his rear torso.

The victim was a passenger of a vehicle traveling on Polk Circle, near Heritage Hills Drive, when he was struck by a projectile.

Northern District detectives are investigating this incident and believe the projectile that entered the home may have been a stray round from the shooting incident.
