23-year-old arrested in killing of man in July shooting in Baltimore

BALTIMORE — A man is being charged with first degree murder for a shooting that killed one person last month.

On July 25, Southwest District officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Franklintown Road to investigate a reported shooting.

Officers responded to the location and found 32 year-old Tavonte Briggs suffering from gunshot wounds.

Medics responded to the location and took the victim to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Through the course of their investigation, Homicide detectives identified the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for 23 year-old Dajuan McBride.

On Wednesday, Warrant Apprehension Task-Force detectives arrested Danjuan McBride for 1st Degree Murder.

McBride is currently being held at the Central Booking Intake Facility and was denied bail.
