BALTIMORE — A man faces first degree murder charges in Baltimore.

On July 25, 2020, Southwest District officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Franklintown Road to investigate a reported shooting.

On location they found 32 year-old Tavonte Briggs suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died at an area hospital.

Homicide detectives later identified 23 year-old Dajuan McBride as the suspect.

Detectives interviewed McBride's mother and step-mother who both indicated separately that he confessed to killing Briggs. Cellular tower analysis also placed McBride in the area of the murder at the time.

Update — March 23, 2022: A Baltimore jury found McBride guilty of first degree murder. He now faces 35-years in prison.
