HOWARD COUNTY — Howard County police are investigating a deadly single-vehicle collision involving a dirt bike in Dayton.
At about 7:22 p.m. on Saturday, a Yamaha 125L dirt bike was traveling in the 5400 block of Green Bridge Road, a paved access road for Pig Tail Recreation Area, when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and hit a tree.
The operator, Cody Carroll Porter, 21, of Sykesville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
