MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Police are investigating after a 2-year-old was shot inside a Montgomery County home.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police are investigating the circumstance surrounding the shooting of a 2-year-old boy that happened Saturday afternoon inside a home in Montgomery Village.
On Saturday, December 5 at about 5:18 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call stating that a 2-year-old boy had been shot in one of his lower extremities.
The caller, who identified himself/herself as a family member of the victim, stated that the shooting occurred inside a home in the 19400 block of Brassie Place and that he/she was currently driving the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, detectives interviewed multiple witnesses, to include the victim’s family members, who were inside the Brassie Place home when the shooting occurred.
Investigators also located evidence that indicated that the victim was shot while inside the house. Detectives determined that the victim does not live at that Brassie Place address.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding how the victim was shot, to include whether the shooting was accidental or if it was a criminal act.
Child Protective Services (CPS) personnel were also notified of the facts surrounding this investigation.
