17-year-old arrested and charged with first degree murder

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police say a 17-year-old has been arrested and charged for a murder that happened last Saturday.

On November 7, at around 5:04 a.m., an officer was in the 2000 block of Grinnalds Avenue when he heard multiple gunshots coming from the 2400 block of Carroll Street.

The officer went to the location and found 26-year-old Sharif Stewart, of Greenbelt, seated in the passenger of a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds to his body. Stewart was transported to Shock Trauma, where he died a short time later.

Shortly after homicide detectives took control of the investigation, a witness was located and was able to identify a suspect(s).

Later that day, detectives arrested 17-year-old Devin Shadle, of the 2000 block of Harmon Avenue, in the 2700 block of Washington Boulevard, without incident.

Shadle was transported to Homicide where he was interviewed, and then taken to Central Booking. He has officially been charged with 1st Degree Murder and is being held without bail.
