A Louisville, Ky. officer started her shift like any other day Monday until she was flagged down by driver.
Officer Elisha Thompson was driving down Broadway near 18th Street when a woman started flashing her vehicle's high beams and honking. Thompson stops and the woman said she was having a baby.
"I pull to the side of the road, opened the car door and there's a partial head sticking out," Thompson said. "We just went from there, you know, push and there came the joy of life.'
Officer Thompson called for EMS, but the baby girl was born 14 minutes before they arrived. Once the ambulance came, the baby was wrapped in a sheet and rushed to the hospital with her mom.
Thompson said it was the most memorable day in her five year career with the Louisville Police Department.
