Earlier this month, ABC2 In Focus shared the story of Little Flowers, a school in Baltimore asking for coats for its students to keep warm this winter. The public responded in a huge way. Dozens of emails and phones calls came pouring in and ultimately more than enough coats for the children and their families.

"It's wonderful. I just can't even," said Kathy Carter, assistant director at Little Flowers. "I just didn't know it was going to be like this. I just didn't know."

Christmas came early for Little Flowers Early Childhood and Development Center. People showered the center with coats from parts near and far, after Carter shared her students' needs with In Focus.

"People out of the kindness of their heart. Not only from Baltimore, but Baltimore and the surrounding counties, across the country, Florida and Denver and Virginia," Carter said.

More than 150 coats arrived in just two weeks and they're still coming in. Each of the center's 120 children will be able to choose a brand new coat. Milan, 4, already had her sights set on one.

"Because it's my favorite! It's my favorite color," she said. "Purple and pink!"

For Little Flowers, the coats are more than just a gift. They're a valuable lesson on the joy of giving this time of year.

"Thank you everybody for the coats!" shouted Carter and a group of children together.
