A Howard County community is rallying against a new development proposal.

The 23-home development is planned for a 99-acre site on Haviland Mill Road in Clarksville. A group called "Friends of Haviland Mill" want the land to be preserved and turned into a county park. Members say the development doesn't fit the rural nature of the community.

"I don't want to see the wildlife taken away, I don't want to see the land destroyed. It's a beautiful piece of property," Theresa Marrow said, a member of the Friends of Haviland Mill Road.

Tuesday at 6 p.m. on In Focus, the developer explains how he's addressing the community's concerns. Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman also weighs in.
