March is national colon cancer awareness month. Of the cancers that affect both men and women, it's the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S.
Most of those deaths could be prevented with regular screenings. ABC2 and the Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation are teaming up sponsor a health festival to educate people about screening and prevention.
Janice Bowden is one of the doctors participating in next week's health festival. She joined ABC2's In Focus to discuss colon cancer prevention and treatment.
The Susie's Cause Health Festival is Saturday March 19 at Mondawmin Mall from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
