New drug could make immunotherapy part of lung cancer treatment

Chemotherapy has long been a standard of care for lung cancer patients whose tumors have spread, but it might not be the only or even the best option.

Merck's immunotherapy drug has made developments in the battle against non-small cell lung cancer. The newest study involving the drug could make immunotherapy a key part of treatments. 

Dr. Suman Bannur Rao is a medical oncologist at MedStar Frankin Square Medical Center. She joined ABC2's In Focus to discuss a new immunotherapy drug which could become a key part of treatment for lung cancer patients.
