Avoiding mistakes on your tax return

Tax season is coming to a close. There's just ten days remaining before you have to file your tax returns. 
 
If you haven't filed you yet, you're not alone. One-third of  Americans wait until April to file and this year the deadline has been extended three days to April 18. 
 
Not filing a return could cost you big time financially. The penalty could be ten times greater than the penalty for not paying in full on your taxes. 
 
Diane Speakman is a senior tax advisor with H&R Block. She joined In Focus to give you some tips for filing your tax returns and to avoid making mistakes this year and in the future.
