Scientists are on the cusp of breakthroughs for diseases once thought incurable.

Gene therapy could offer a cure for Alzheimer's, cancer and cystic fibrosis. In fact, scientists say they are close to a cure for AIDS.

Jeff Galvin, the CEO of American Gene Technologies joined ABC2's In Focus to discuss the process and its progress.
