Non-air conditioned schools in Baltimore County to close for heat Friday

Baltimore County public schools without air-conditioning will close Friday because of the heat.

After school and evening activities for those schools are also canceled.

Those looking for which schools will close can check out this list of the schools in Baltimore County that don't have air conditioning.

Under a new measure approved by Baltimore County's board of education earlier this month, if the heat index reaches 90 degrees, all non-air conditioned public schools are required to close.

The policy goes into effect if the heat index is forecast to reach 90 degrees by 11 a.m. If the heat index is forecasted to reach 90 degrees by 2 p.m., those schools will get out two hours early.
