Activists working to save wild horses

Posted

Marylanders understand the appeal of wild horses, like the ponies at Assateague State Park.

Wild horses are also a symbol of America's west, but the government says the population is getting out of control. Officials are now looking for ways to mitigate overpopulation.

One of the most recent solutions is to euthanized the animals that can't be adopted. And activists are responding.

Wednesday on In Focus, ABC2's investigative team will take a look at the fight to keep the horses on public land and how the government got into the problem in the first place.
