Howard County Fire crews battled morning blaze in Woodbine

WOODBINE, Md. — Howard County Fire and EMS crews battled a Tuesday morning house fire in Woodbine.

Fire an EMS officials said they were notified about a two-alarm house fire in 1500 block Old Annapolis Road at about 11:15 a.m. Arriving units encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage and the house's main structure, the department said. Crews fought the flames from the outside, taking about two hours to control the flames.

According to the department, the home's occupant and his dog evacuated the structure safely before the firefighters arrived. The fire is now under control.

The fire is being investigated by the Office of the Fire Marshall. Crews from Carroll, Montgomery, and Frederick counties assisted in surpressing the fire.
