FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. — Nine residents were displaced after a overnight townhouse fire in Frederick.
Officials say Fire and Rescue units were dispatched at around 12:20 a.m. to a townhouse fire in the 200 block of Canfield Terrace.
Emergency Communications Dispatchers received multiple calls for a backyard fence and deck on fire. Units arrived to find heavy fire showing through the roof of a middle of the row townhouse, so a second alarm and Rapid Intervention Team was quickly requested.
Firefighters go the fire under control in about 30 minutes and an additional 90 minutes was used to extinguish hotspots and perform overhaul.
Three townhouses were damaged from heavy fire and water and nine people were displaced and are currently being assisted by Red Cross.
There were no reported injuries.
The cause and estimated cost are being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
