For the very first time the U.S. Naval Academy is ranked the top public college in the nation by Forbes magazine.
The Academy is known for it's excellent academics, free-tuition and rigorous military lifestyle, but cadets are required to serve five years or more after graduation.
The Naval Academy beat out it's close rival, the U.S. Military Academy who had been in the number one spot since 2014.
The University of Maryland also made the top 25 at the number 13 spot.
