In the spirit of celebrating Teacher Appreciate Week, WMAR-2 News and MECU are proud to recognize teachers who make positive impacts with their students and in our community.

One such deserving educator is Derrick Jackson of Towson High School. Currently the Director of Choral Activities for the school, he has been teaching in Baltimore County Public Schools for fifteen years.

Jackson earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Frostburg State University, majoring in Music Education and minoring in Flute Performance. He went on to receive a Masters Degree in Administration and Supervision from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

Accustomed to leading his students in performance arts, this time Jackson can take a bow as he has earned a rousing round of applause.
