March 2 marks Dr. Seuss’ birthday, and to celebrate, young readers nationwide are encouraged to pick up a good book for Read Across America Day.
Here in Maryland, events are planned at various locations throughout Baltimore City, as well as in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman, and the United Way of Central Maryland, joined by Baltimore City police officers, will read Dr. Seuss favorites at several Baltimore and central Maryland schools.
