Governor signs gap year bill

Governor Hogan signed a bill that will create a pilot program that allows college-bound students to take a gap year of service at a nonprofit organization following high school graduation.

If students complete the program, they could receive a $15,000 stipend and a one-time $6,000 scholarship.
