Maryland School Choice Week kicks off in just a couple days and people across the state are getting ready to celebrate.

Governor Larry Hogan declared January 20-26 as School Choice Week and joined more than a dozen governors from states across the country to officially recognize it.

School choice supporters, parents, and teachers have since planned over 600 different events across the state. The events include rallies, round table discussions, coffeehouse meet-ups, festivals, school fairs, and more which aim to spark conversations about educational opportunities parents have, or want to have, for their children.

National School Choice Week is an awareness effort to shine a positive light on education opportunities for students, families, and communities around the country.

Governor Hogans office says there are more than 40,000 events planned nationwide for School Choice Week.
