Drunk customer leaves $1000 tip at Colorado restaurant

Posted

Workers at a restaurant in Colorado got the biggest tip they’d ever been, but a day later, the customer wanted his money back.

A man left a $1000 tip on a meal that reportedly cost about $60 after enjoying a few glasses of wine at Thailicious restaurant outside of Denver.

The owner held onto the hefty tip thinking it may have been a mistake, and sure enough, the customer returned sober the following day and asked for his money back.

“He said, ‘I’m sorry, I was drunk,’ ” the owner told the Denver Post. “He didn’t know he put all the money he had in the checkbook.”

The money was returned, and in exchange, the man handed over $100 to cover the meal with the rest left over for his intended tip.
