Police in Maryland have arrested a man they say ran away after he crashed a car into another vehicle, killing a 90-year-old woman.
Anne Arundel County Police said in a news release that on Aug. 22, a car ran a stop sign and started speeding. Authorities say officers tried to stop the car, but it sped away.
Officials say the car crashed into another vehicle driven by 57-year-old Stephen Kotchen. Investigators say the driver of the other car ran away.
Police say Stephen Kotchen's mother, 90-year-old Helen Kotchen, who was a passenger in his car, was fatally injured in the crash. Stephen Kotchen is hospitalized in serious condition.
Police say on Aug. 25, officers arrested 36-year-old Maurice Dorsey in connection with the crash. He has been charged with manslaughter.
