DC police: Howard University campus cleared

 DC Police Department has reported that the campus has been cleared by authorities.

Police were near Howard University after reports of a 'potential shooter' Tuesday afternoon.

Howard University tweeted "This afternoon, we were anonymously notified of a potential shooter on campus. We took the call seriously and police are investigating."

The incident was reported in the 2400 block of 6th Street in Northwest D.C.

Streets are closed on 6th street from Fairmont Street, NW to College Street, NW. Additional closures are located on Howard Place from Georgia Avenue to 4th Street, NW.
