Two charged in assault of blind train passenger

Police have made two arrests in the assault of a blind passenger aboard a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit train.

On Wednesday afternoon, Metro Transit Police announced the arrests of 18-year-old Darion Rivers and a juvenile whose name is being withheld.

Rivers, of Prince George's County is charged with two counts of assault, while the juvenile is being charged with three counts.

Police said on Tuesday they had identified the suspects and were seeking arrest warrants.

The alleged assault happened Monday morning on the Red Line near the NoMa-Galludet U Station.
