FREDERICK, Md. — A traffic stop led to the discovery of over two pounds of marijuana and the arrest of three men on Thursday.

Maryland State Police says they conducted a traffic stop for a car traveling westbound on US 340 at Jefferson Technology Pkwy in Frederick when they smelled marijuana. A probable cause search of the car then led to the discovery of 1,206.5 grams of weed, or 2.77 pounds.

The driver, 23-year-old Trung Tan Huynh, and the two passengers, 18-year-old Garrett Michael Pearson and 22-year-old Gabe Dejon Thomas, were arrested for possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute.

A further search of the car led to the discovery of two small baggies containing .5 grams and .6 grams of suspect MDMA belonging to Huynh, and $686 cash.

All three men were transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for charging.
