A 7-month-old baby has died from injuries from abuse, the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office said.
Nathan Allan Bailey, 30, of Mechanicsville faces charges of first-degree assault, first-degree child abuse, second-degree assault and child neglect.
The victim died Friday at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
The case remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office.
