Months after allegedly posing as a teen on Snapchat and then meeting up with a 12-year-old, a 36-year-old man is facing multiple sex-related charges.
Officials say 36-year-old John Warren Compton was posing as a 14-year-old boy when he met a 12-year-old on Snapchat in July. After a month of talking the two decided to meet, so Compton picked the pre-teen up from her grandmother's house in Pennsylvania and took her to his place in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
There they allegedly had sexual intercourse.
The pre-teen reported the incident to the police and they were able to take over her Facebook account to start another conversation with Compton. Compton agreed to meet with the girl on Sunday night at the Rocky Ridge Municipal Park and outlined in the conversation the multiple sexual acts he wanted to do to the pre-teen.
Compton arrived at the park and was arrested by Frederick County sheriff's deputies.
He has since been charged with second-degree Rape, third-degree Sex Offense, a fourth-degree Sex Offense, and Solicitation of a Minor.
Compton is currently being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without bond.
