Students charged with assault after fight at Oakland Mills High School

Howard County Police responded to Oakland Mills High School after two teenage girls were found fighting in the school's cafeteria  Tuesday morning. 

Police have charged both 9th grade girls with assault and possession of a deadly weapon on school property as they were each carrying pocket knives.  

Around 7:15 a.m. the fight was broken up by two staff members who both suffered minor injuries. The staff members were treated by paramedics but did not require a transport to the hospital. 

Both teens have been charged as juveniles and will receive additional disciplinary action from Howard County Public Schools.
