Howard County police arrested a woman wanted in connection to a robbery and assault at Columbia Mall.

Police charged Ahleyah Rockwell, 22, of Columbia with robbery, theft  and assault. Police located her through a combination of tips and a video recorded by a witness.

A witness says at about 4:00 P.M. that day they saw a woman reach into the register near the carousel and take out cash. An employee confronted the woman and the two got into a fight.

Officials said around around 4 p.m. on Aug. 5 a carousel employee saw Rockwell reach into the register and steal cash. When employees confronted Rockwell, she shoved one and grabbed another by the hair, bit her hand and shoved her to the ground. That employee, a 69-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Rockwell also shoved a witness who tried to intervene.

Rockwell then fled the mall through the food court.

She is being held at central booking for processing.
