A 29-year-old man who robbed eight hotels over five years was arrested this weekend, Howard County Police said.

Calvin Glover Jr., of the 100 block of Collins Avenue in Baltimore, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of armed robbery, robbery, assault, theft, and the use of a firearm in a felony, police said.

Police were called to the 7100 block of Old Waterloo Road in Elkridge on Jan. 7, after a suspect entered the Comfort Suites lobby, jumped over the front desk, threatened an employee, stole money from the cash drawer, then fled. The description of the robber was the same as from a similar incident at the same hotel on Dec. 29, 2014.

The Sleep Inn in the 8100 block of Washington Boulevard in Jessup was robbed in a similar fashion three times – on Nov. 25, 2018, Nov. 21, 2016, and Dec. 2, 2014, police said, as was the Rodeway Inn in the 5800 block of Bonnie View Lane – on Sept. 14, 2018 and Dec. 3, 2014 – and the Days Inn in the 9800 block of Washington Boulevard in Laurel – on Dec. 2, 2014.

Detectives identified Glover as the robbery suspect, and in mid-January he was arrested in a nearby jurisdiction for a similar crime, police said. Additional evidence linking Glover to the most recent Howard County robberies was discovered at the time of his arrest. He is being held in the Howard County Detention Center.
