A 30-year-old man surrendered to police after a brief barricade and fire in an Elkridge home.
Police said officers were called to the 5900 block of Setter Drive around 9:30 a.m. for a man who was threatening to hurt himself and family members.
The family fled the home and police tried to negotiate with the man to come out of the house. According to officials, the man started a fire in the home and then ran outside where he was taken into custody.
He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The fire was extinguished without incident.
