The Howard County police will start testing officer worn body cameras. Ten officers will test the body cameras and report their experiences and feedback from the public.
They'll be testing cameras from two different vendors, including the standard body camera and some that can be attached to glasses or hats.
The decision comes after months of research and a host of issues surrounding a camera program, like costs, training and privacy. The department held training for the cameras Thursday and those 10 officers will officially begin using the cameras Friday.
