26-year-old man arrested for distributing child pornography

CLARKSVILLE, Md. — Maryland State Police arrested and charged a man for distributing and possessing child pornography.

The Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted an online investigation for offenders sharing child pornography which led them to 26-year-old John Monroe Jr.

Police say officers served a search warrant on Monroe on Monday morning and confiscated electronic devices that had multiple child pornography files. He was immediately arrested at his home without incident.

Monroe was charged with three counts of distribution of child pornography and six counts of possession of child pornography and was taken to the Maryland State Police Waterloo Barrack for processing.

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is a combined law enforcement effort involving police departments across Maryland aimed at identifying those involved in child pornography through the Internet and other related crimes that victimize children.
