Maryland State Police are searching for the suspect involved in an overnight shooting in Wicomico County.
Police say the shooting left 20-year-old Jaquanta Walton dead.
Officers of the Salisbury Police Department were called around 1:48 a.m. Saturday to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound.
Responding officers were told the victim had died when they arrived.
MSP investigators learned the victim and a friend were attending a party in the 800 block of West Main Street. After the party ended around 1 a.m., several people, including the victim gathered in the parking lot.
Police say the victim was in the parking lot when he was approached by an unknown suspect who shot him at least once in the torso. The suspect fled on foot.
Walton was driven to Peninsula Medical Center were he was dropped off. His body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
Investigators have no indication at this time that this shooting is in any way related to the other fatal shooting in Salisbury that occurred about 45 minutes earlier.
There were no other injuries in this incident, police said.
A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in this case by the Lower Eastern Shore Crime Solvers. Persons with information should call 410-548-1776 and may remain anonymous.
