Police are searching for suspects involved in deadly shooting in Cecil County Saturday night.

Maryland State Police identified the victim as Malcolm G. Lowrie, 22, of Elkton, Md. Police said he was visiting a home in the unit block of Navajo Trail North in Elkton when he was shot around 10:45 p.m.

He was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

An investigation found Lowrie was visiting the home when two or more people arrived and a fight began. Witnesses said the victim was shot during the altercation.

Police do not believe the shooting was random, and they're still trying to determine if this was a home invasion.

"Whether or not they were allowed in the home is a continuing part of the investigation.  Investigators right now haven't been able to establish if they were able to gain access by someone letting them in or the door was unlocked or if they actually forced their way into the home, but we know once they entered the home, there was a confrontation between them and the victim and ultimately he was shot," said Greg Shipley of the Maryland State Police.

There were five adults, including the victim, and four children in the home when the suspects entered.  No one else in the home was injured.
Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP, or Maryland State Police at the North East Barrack at 410-996-7800. Callers may remain anonymous.
